Do you trust Google with all of your data? -- context
Coincidentally I discussed a bit about it last night -- I don't see it as a
problem from a business perspective since when Google becomes "evil" in any
sense that would become a problem translated into a business opportunity
other incumbents would jump on - consequently users would definitely switch.
My only doubts would come from the governmental regulations though.

Really..let's get real..
Google knows it can sell our information if they really want to. But Google also knows that the competition is fierce on the search engine market ( and its related services ), and it knows the reason most people use it is because of their polici and not being evil. Any small mistake would mean losing a lot of users.
Why even try that when they can keep our personal information for them and using that deliver services that make them more money than selling it would?
If you're a big enough company to afford creating every service you need, and have lots of clients with very personal information..then keep it to yourself.
But for a small company it's just not worth it to do everything yourself.
Also..about security..don't you think Google has a lot more expertise/money for security than even most medium-sized companies? It's in their best interest :P
And yes...I will sell my soul to Google given the opportunity ;)
