Future deja vu?
Reading about the Hungarian software market I can't stop making the observation that this is how Romania should look like in a 3 to 5 years time range. I have my doubts though, but I am open to good surprises.

Hi Dragos, this situation is already the reality in Timisoara, where smaller companies like mine have to fight for each others programmers. It's a great pity. Also, the two large companies in Timi that have hired hundreds of programmers have many of them (not all ...) working like factory workers - where is the creativity in that? That too is a pity. What is good though is that people who really are creative don't necessarily want to go to the big employers because of fears of being stifled. We are lucky - the doubling of our salary costs over the last 2 years has co-incided with massive improvements in our skillset and productivity. Finally the Higher Ed system in Romania is shockingly poor at turning-out productive useful programmers - most of them teach themselves .Net for example. Tony
