Travelistic -- online video sharing about places from around the world. Nice vertical with awesome potential -- my fav video is Cesky Krumlov, for the sake of good old times of my living the Czech Republic. [via]

A list of 500 companies compiled by BBW, with Gameloft in the top seat, with 236 companies from France, Germany and UK and with only 46 companies coming from the Central Eastern Europe and the Baltics (the New Europe).
Over at Zefrank Show - rubber ducks for mouse-over text messages from the viewers. Simple and clever! [via]

An interesting niche product relevant for just a few chosen ones - the ones with interests in live updates from the capital markets.
love it -- and the video-blog concept with a few-minute-show might turn out to be an amazing business model.
update: on the same tone but on a different level, CNET launched CNET TV

Dimitris sent me to an interesting European city survey indicating that Budapest, Moscow and Bucharest are the places to see the strongest capital inflow in the coming period, with Bucharest positioned in a high-interest position. That should not come as a surprise to anybody as the market was and still is underexploited by foreign companies - office spaces and real estate are the hottest places to invest into Bucharest, everybody and their mother are having a vested interest in it. However, talking to some local entrepreneurs at Podio (the one and only podcasting show about business and entrepreneurs in the Romanian online and my latest gig together with Radu) Romanians might also consider going after Europeans markets as well given the coming January 1 EU admission. That might be a brilliant idea in some certain market segments, me thinks.

Bogdana gave My Space a try for understanding how marketing could work in that space - after all research indicates that besides teens the users *might* be in the 30-40 age category as well. Peep shows or get-rich scheme invitations so far, but there is hope. :)
I just don't get it - I guess it's just too web 2.0-ish for me. Try looking for u2, for example.
An (advanced) end user perspective. Amen to that!
the shopcasting network - product playlist run by people on their blogs.
Apparently the big G is now kinda focusing on a straight(er) direction for growth with Brin leading a "Features, not products" initiative (bugmenot required). One of the latest Google that I have just discovered is the movies - a feature that most likely is competing with imdb, rotten tomatoes and the like.
...is google's new toy (that is made public) designed for experimenting with new ways of search.
Jeremy's blog network company closed a 2 million deal in equity funding and it looks like Rick Segal had something to do with that.
JW is, arguably, one of the more known international bloggers to the Romanian audience since his appearance on a local workshop about blogging last July. Apparently he will be in Bucharest as a guest speaker for another conference later this month.

Danah Boyd' on teenagers online behavior - a must-see video if you want to understand what your future clients will behave like. Saved it for the weekend. [via]
The startup phase is all about experimentating -- uh, I'd call it hypothesis testing and deciding upon the right variable mix that would then become part of your business model.
Many of you wondered what the hell had happened that argumente had gone bogus for the last 6-8 months now (thanks for the emails and messages, btw)
In short, at the beginning of the year we had a bit of crisis over at Krogos - it was that bad that we had to get rid of one of our active partners due to bad decisions and poor communicatiom that affected our credibility and relationship with some of our dear clients. Big time, actually. Luckily enough our other clients were fully supportive and understading and we managed to turn around the boat. That though required my entire attention and direct involvement on the day-to-day projects management - as such little time had I for other things such as reading or blogging for example.
At the beginning of the summer things have become predictable and smoother - as such, besides Krogos, at the moment, I am involved part-time in a cool project about Bucharest which is called metropotam (something similar to gothamist but cooler :P).
Oh, and at Krogos together with Andrei we also worked on and managed to launch a cool mobile app - urbee (a mobile calendar listing the events from Bucharest via web). Urbee is still in beta and it took us a long time to make it public since we worked on it at nights or during the weekends, but we're now ready to explore new ways and open to launching it internationally, so if you're interested in details please drop me a line.
In the meantime, in the very little time that I can afford to dedicate to reading blogs, I rather prefer digesting and thinking things through than putting them down. That doesn't mean whatsoever that argumente is dead - on the contrary, I still love blogging and I am interesting in cool business model, strategy and technologies more than ever.
C'est ca...:)

Kinda cool -- though I have met lots of entrepreneurs rather focusing on the exit than on that market problem they're solving. But then again, it's easy to miss the forest for the trees.
Your day is full of them so you gotta have an efficient aproach so that i) the deliverables are clear and ii) the time allocation is justly done. Here's how Google's Marrisa Meyer is doing in this respect - btw, she runs 70 meetings a week, on average.
That's the name of a nice idea of a web service that let's you personalize a web-ad.
Basically you need to insert the attributes of your desired for-sale item and choose from the available templates the one that suits you. Then you generate an ad that will be automatically posted over at a number of ad-based websites (google base, oodle, etc) or have a pre-generated html that is compatible with craiglist, ebay and the like. Tres kewl! [via]
