So I finally manged to make the switch to a better software solution that
was developed in the house (no, not a Krogos solution though - just one
conceived by me and a buddy of mine). Without getting into details, we
managed to come to a satisfying version, now in beta, that we've been
working on and off since the beginning of the year. As you may imagine we
spent our nights and weekends to learn lots of stuff and to make tons of
mistakes throughout the process but at the end of the day I believe we
succeded to have a fine piece of software.
A couple of comments for making your way out in this blog:
- I divided the website into 2 parts: a main and a side section ( situated
on the right side now - briefly), as most of the time I am pointing to links
rather than making comments at large. As such expect the side section to be
updated more frequently.
- RSS feeds are offered for the main part, for the side one and for all the
comments. As such, if using a RSS reader please update your feeds: main, side and comments.
- I prefer the minimalistic design, and it resulted what you can see. Other
sections such as the most popular comments, latest ones, etc will be made
available soon.
- It took us a lot of time for porting as we needed to clean up the spam
that I was too lazy to filter for the last 18 months or so (>1200 posts).
In the new format the archive is not functional yet; however the old version
of the website is
entirely available.
C'est ca. Please let me know what you think, any feedback is highly
appreciated. :)

Do you have anything to say? Fill in the below

Dragos,
Congratulations for your blog new face.
Please note the URL for Home should be /index_html instead of just index_html.
Also a kind suggestion: if it is possible, make more specific the title for Side and Comments RSSs; otherwise subscribing to 3 RSSs with the same title could be confusing.

Good change indeed. One more suggestion though: on the internet, sans-serif fonts are way more readable than serif ones. Good luck!
Hi Dragos,
Congratulations, it looks really nice.
Still, I looked at the code behind it and you could definetelly make some improvements in order for it to be better optimized for search engines.
I am available for consultancy and advises on this side, in case you want to. :)
Yours,
M.
...for the feedback, we're still in early phases, we need several things to adjust or add, so please bear with it for the moment. But keep the feedback coming. :)
It's looking good. The minimalist approach works nicely and the font scales well and is a good size for reading. The whole thing is more usable and simple to access and fun to read as a result.
Just to note - the xhtml V1.0 transitional is not quite validating properly as yet - mainly because of rogue uppercase tags appearing in the story contents.
the site looks good, I like the green :)
I know the platform for sure, was wondering why the other one isn't working..
...got lost in backwards compatibility upgrades, it needs to be started from all over again. sorry.
no worries :)
stuff hasn't happened this summer either, so I guess a new one is for the better
