Wow, apparently Basescu asks for election cancelling and starting the process all over accusing a fraud of at least 2.5%. According to him all the cancelled votes were accounted as good for Nastase/PSD. [links in Romanian] So there may something rotten in Denmark after all.

Indeed, nothing will happen. Why would the BEC agree to it? After all, it was them who allowed all the fraud to take place. Besides, just like the Gore/Bush case, the public has already made their peace with the results as such. Not many people will want to vote again. And PSD will just do like in the saying.. "cainii latra, caravana trece".. :)
I am utterly dissapointed by the whole thing. We showed again and again that Romanians are incapable of doing anything good. How difficult is to organize some goddamned fair elections? Both sides are equally wrong in my opinion. This terrible scandal can endanger the very future of our country. Very sad.

I agree, we are very bad organizers, nobody benefits from this circus and this will only reflect on the disgust people will accumulate for the whole process. Hence they won't vote any longer.
