Romania that is. (found at Horia's blog) Check out who the Romanian president is - for the people over at the Danish embassy two months after the elections. At the embassy from UK there's no mentioning of names, though there's a link pointing to the presidential website. The one from France is updated and so is the one from US.

The other three embassies you mentioned have really cool homepages. They are quite impressive! Do you know if each embassy is allowed to manage its own page, or is this done from Bucharest (as claimed by a local embassy worker some time ago in a response to a letter by Petroniu)?
I don't know who is managing the content of the webpages. My guess is that it should be the people from the specific embassies - as such the above mentioned differences have a reasonable (?) explanation. The technical solution, as far as I know, is provided by a single (Romanian) company - Astral.
Is it just me or is the Presidential web site incredibly slow to load? I hit stop after a couple of minutes and some of the images still haven't loaded.

Is Basescu actually doing what he promised in the areas of corruption etc, or where they 'politician speak' now he's in power? I decided to keep my apartment going in Bucharest on leaving for GB, and have noticed that the bills have increased considerably ... no change there then.
Basescu certainly seems to have gotten involved on several areas, though one cannot make miracles over night. There are some press scandals these days involving Basescu and the actual government, but I guess that's something predictable for somebody familiar with how things work out in Romania.
