Oh well, they are Norwegians at a yearly 8.8 kilos per capita and 4 cups per
day on average for the people older than 15.
I could've bet that the top spot is reserved for Italians or French though -
the population number is larger and this may affect the per capita
consumption. Also the
article notices that the coffee shops are becoming very popular in
Norway nowadays, in spite of Starbucks not making an appearance - this trend
has probably more to do with drinking coffee as a social habit.

Do you have anything to say? Fill in the below

first of all, is this the same dragos that i know from metacafe? and the main point being-- do you not know that the top spot is and has been for many years reserved to finns? go back to your sources (i'd give you one if i had it but i don't, sorry. only going by what i read in our papers from time to time. wait, here's one,..) http://tilastokeskus.fi/tup/maanum/28_kulutus.xls with finns weighing in at 11,2 kgs per capita annually, we easily beat the norwegians. (look for suomi in column S for year 2004,.... and notice that we have slipped! in our consumption since a few years earlier!) we too, have no starbucks that i know of around here. so, clink!, here's to being wired! cheers, peikko

I don't have the source double-checked and can't seem to find rapidly something on Google but according to Aftenposten the stat was from 2005 while your source is from 2004. It may be the reason for the difference.
Other than that I don't think we met, the only Finnish I know is a lady whose name is certainly not Peikko. :)
